Jana Critchfield is the Regional Sales Manager – NY/New England – for Wright Flood Insurance. Her insurance career spans 45+ years and her experience with the National Flood Insurance Program is in excess of 30 years. She has worked for FEMA as a Flood Insurance Specialist – both at the California Regional Office and FEMA Headquarters in Washington, D.C.
While in D.C. she worked as a Congressional Liaison between the NFIP and the Congressional staff, both elected and appointed – handling the Mitigation Portfolio. She was detailed from FEMA HQ in October 2013 to New York in the recovery efforts of Super Storm Sandy as the flood insurance lead – assigned to the Joint Field Office for which it was her responsibility to attend public meetings, speak with policyholders, city officials, and members of the local communities with regard to flood insurance and the coverages the flood program provides. She attended more than 150 public meetings – some several times a day – with outreach to the above audiences with respect to the coverages.
She retired from FEMA in May 2013 and has returned to her roots in the insurance industry working as a Regional Sales Manager for Wright Flood which is the largest company facilitating the National Flood Insurance Program.
She spends a great deal of her time teaching Continuing Education to insurance brokers and visiting existing agents in the New York and New England states.
