Jana Critchfield is the Regional Sales Manager – NY/New England – for Wright Flood Insurance. Her insurance career spans 45+ years and her experience with the National Flood Insurance Program is in excess of 30 years. She has worked for FEMA as a Flood Insurance Specialist – both at the California Regional Office and FEMA Headquarters in Washington, D.C.
While in D.C. she worked as a Congressional Liaison between the NFIP and the Congressional staff, both elected and appointed – handling the Mitigation Portfolio. She was detailed from FEMA HQ in October 2013 to New York in the recovery efforts of Super Storm Sandy as the flood insurance lead – assigned to the Joint Field Office for which it was her responsibility to attend public meetings, speak with policyholders, city officials, and members of the local communities with regard to flood insurance and the coverages the flood program provides. She attended more than 150 public meetings – some several times a day – with outreach to the above audiences with respect to the coverages.

Dr. Robert Hartwig served as president of the Insurance Information Institute for the past 18 years and recently stepped down to become a faculty member in the Finance Department at the University of South Carolina’s Darla Moore School of Business. He will also be co-director of the Moore School’s Risk and Uncertainty Management Center.
Presently, the I.I.I. provides assistance on thousands of stories annually and covers all aspects of print, television, radio and new media while also responding to thousands of requests from I.I.I. member companies and other constituencies. Jim Kane began his insurance career in 1985 with General Accident Insurance as a marketing trainee. After three years on the insurance company side of the business, Jim accepted his first position as a broker with Louis P. Sigel & Sons as Personal Lines Manager. He would go on to serve in similar roles for regional and national brokerages including Posse Walsh Buckman Van Buren, CBIZ and PLI Brokerage. In 2005 with the acquisition of PLI by HUB International, Jim was named President of HUB Personal Insurance. Tom Larsen is an industry solutions principal in the Insurance Solutions group of CoreLogic. Mr. Larsen has worked to develop natural catastrophe models, software computing and platforms and natural catastrophe risk solutions since 1989, starting with a venture that later formed the catastrophe modeler EQECAT.
In his current role, he supports CoreLogic’s relentless pursuit to protect and restore families and businesses from financial catastrophe by focusing on natural catastrophe hazards and risks. Joseph M. Lawlor is an Associate Managing Director in the U.S. Cyber Investigations and Incident Response practice at K2 Intelligence. With a focus on privacy, data security, compliance, and proactive defense, Joseph leads a team of experts who advise high-net-worth clients, small to medium-sized businesses, and large corporations on cybersecurity and cyber defense. Kurt is Vice President of Ericson Insurance Advisors and specializes in providing insurance and risk management solutions to successful individuals and families.
Kurt is a founding member of the Private Risk Management Association and helps lead their public relations and marketing committee. He is also the founder of another industry group, with over 1,000 members, that is dedicated to peer-to-peer information sharing and education in the high net worth insurance space.

Jed Usich is Vice President of personal lines marketing for The Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company (HSB) and an executive responsible for sales, marketing and distribution of HSB’s specialty insurance programs for consumers. He joined the company in 2014.
Previously Jed managed sales and marketing for AIG Private Client Group, a division of American International Group that provides insurance solutions to successful individuals and families.
A twenty six year veteran of the property casualty insurance industry, Mr. Usich earlier in his career was responsible for property claims at AIG, Chubb Insurance and Aetna Property and Casualty.
