The Distinguished Claims Professional Award

Purpose:

The Distinguished Claims Professional Award honors a claims professional—whether working within an insurance company or broker organization—who exemplifies excellence in navigating complex property claims, particularly during catastrophic events or significant losses. This individual plays a critical role in guiding high-net-worth clients through moments of vulnerability with technical precision, empathy, and professionalism.

From on-site assessments to interpreting policy language and coordinating resolutions, this professional consistently delivers a client-first experience while upholding the highest standards of claims handling. Their actions turn uncertainty into clarity and reinforce the value of insurance at the moment it matters most.

The recipient of this award will be recognized at the 2025 PRMA Annual Summit being held October 19 – 21 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Appropriate Nominees or Applicants:

Nominees must be insurance professionals in a claims role, working at either a carrier or broker organization, and demonstrate:

  • A consistent record of delivering outstanding claims experiences for high-net-worth clients
  • Specific, real-world claims examples where their work had a meaningful impact on resolution, service quality, or client trust
  • Expertise in handling high-severity or catastrophe-related property claims
  • Excellence in communication, empathy, and customer care throughout the claims process
  • The ability to manage complex claims efficiently, evaluate coverage accurately, and maintain regulatory compliance
  • Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to support smooth and fair outcomes
  • A strong reputation among colleagues, clients, and partners as a dependable, solutions-oriented professional
