Gary Pasternack is a Principal and Director of Insurance Advisory at Bessemer Trust, the multi-family office with over $100 billion in assets under supervision. In 2002, Gary joined Bessemer Trust to establish the Insurance Advisory department as an integral part of the firm’s wealth management platform. Gary along with his team of insurance professionals works closely with the firm’s client advisors, legacy planners and tax advisors to protect and grow the assets of individual and family clients.
Prior to joining Bessemer Trust, Gary was Vice President and Manager of U.S. Trust Company’s Insurance Consulting Group and a member of J.P. Morgan & Co.’s Corporate Insurance and Risk Management Department, where at both firms he specialized in designing and managing insurance programs for families, individuals, trusts, and estates. Before then, Gary was a Senior Underwriter at the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies underwriting personal lines insurance.
Gary has published articles in Family Wealth Report and Private Asset Management magazine, and Investment Advisor has profiled his work. The National Underwriter, New York Times and Wall Street Journal have quoted Gary on insurance and risk management issues important to the wealthy.
He is a founding trustee of the Private Risk Management Association, an organization dedicated to the high-net-worth personal insurance profession.
Gary earned a B.A. in political science from Central Connecticut State University. He holds the Certified Advisor of Personal Insurance designation from Wharton, University of Pennsylvania, Aresty Institute of Executive Education.
