Rand oversees risk management for Treadwell by providing loss prevention services to policyholders, ensuring that claims are handled seamlessly, and implementing disaster mitigation and response initiatives. Over the course of his career, Rand has surveyed many of the most important and complex collections in the Americas, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

Prior to launching Treadwell in 2020, Rand served as Global Director of Art Collection Management at AIG. Before joining AIG in 2006, Rand held a variety of positions at Christie’s New York, including Vice President and specialist head of 19th Century Works of Art.

Rand currently serves on the vetting committee for The Winter Show and sits on the advisory council of the Appraisers Association of America. He co-wrote a chapter in “Appraising Art: The Definitive Guide to Appraising the Fine and Decorative Arts,” published by the Appraisers Association of America in 2013. Rand has earned a certificate of Uniform Standards in Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) from the Appraisal Foundation, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in anthropology and psychology from Drew University in Madison, New Jersey, and is a graduate of the Arabic Language Institute at the American University in Cairo, Egypt.
